Need someplace to gain some work experience? With funding from the Government of Alberta, we can help with our Transition to Employment Services program!
We offer customized support from our skilled Employment Advisor; whose individualized work is supplemented with workshops, Job Seekers Meetings, a self-serve resource hub with computers, a copier, fax machine and up to date job postings from local employers. Our Employment Advisor is here to assist and support you not only obtaining that job but supporting you during the first few weeks of the job.
Along with individualized supports, we can also offer funding for courses which may help you become more employable. Some of these could include First Aid, H2S, Mental Health First Aid, Bookkeeping, etc. We can provide funding for courses for up to $9,999 per participant. Also, if you require financial support for employment readiness such as work boots, hardhats, police information checks, etc., we can provide up to $500 per participant.
To qualify for this program the individual must be 18 years and over, an Alberta resident, unemployed or underemployed (working less than 20 hours per week), ready, willing and able to work 30 hours or more per week, and legally entitled to work in Canada. This program is intended to aid those who are receiving regular EI benefits, been on EI in the past 60 months or paid sufficient EI premiums in 5 of the last 10 years. However, if you are not certain if you qualify, please see one of our job coaches and we can see how we may able to assist you.
