Our program offers personalized lessons to help you acquire the skills necessary for successful employment in Canada. Whether you’re focusing on English language proficiency, computer literacy, math skills, or a combination of these, we’ve got you covered.

Our program is designed to be flexible, allowing you to schedule tutoring sessions at times that suit your work schedule. To qualify for the Essential Skills Tutoring program, you must meet the following criteria:

Hinton Resident: You should be a resident of Hinton, Alberta, or surrounding area

Foundational Learner: The program is available to individuals who are Foundational Learners, meaning you have a beginners-level understanding of the 9 Essential Skills. Intermediate or advanced learners are not eligible, but are encouraged to enroll in our robust classes and course offerings.

What to Expect When You Enroll

Free Tutoring Lessons

Our program provides one-on-one tutoring lessons tailored to your specific needs. Here’s what you can expect:

• English Language Proficiency: Improve your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills to effectively communicate in professional settings.
• Computer Literacy: Enhance your computer skills, including using productivity software, navigating the internet, and understanding digital tools commonly used in the workplace.
• Math Skills: Strengthen your numeracy skills, covering topics such as basic arithmetic, measurements, financial calculations, and problem-solving.

Customized Learning Plan
Upon enrollment, we conduct an assessment to identify your skill levels and areas for improvement. Based on the assessment results, we create a customized learning plan that outlines the skills to be developed and the specific tutoring lessons to be covered.

Flexible Scheduling
We understand that your work schedule may vary, so we offer flexible tutoring session scheduling. Our tutors are available at different times, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate your availability.
