Hinton Adult Learning Society has recently developed a full time Homelessness Coordinator position, to assist our most vulnerable clients to meet their needs, as well as to ensure sustainable funding, create positive community collaborations and provide a voice from rural Alberta and Hinton on a Municipal, Provincial and National level. This position is supported by grant funding.
Our Homelessness Coordinator is able to provide support services to those experiencing homelessness, at risk of becoming homeless or those temporarily housed or “couch surfing”.
Supports include but are not limited to:
Assistance with housing, health and income assistance.
Referrals to social, supportive or health agencies.
Access to basic needs, clothing and food.
And much more!
Our Homelessness Coordinator also works within the community to raise awareness of Homelessness and works diligently to develop supportive community collaborations to support this vulnerable population.
